Anna Hrywnak

Anna Hrywnak of Johnson City, 90 years, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday morning, October 5, 2012 at her home.

She was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Catherine Biconish; her husband William (Willy) Hrywnak; and her brother, John Biconish. She is survived by her children, Barbara and her husband Warren Ball, John Hrywnak and his wife, Mary Ann, and Nicholas Hrywnak; three grandchildren, Julie Hrywnak, Joshua Hrywnak and his wife, Katelynn and Kevin Ball; a special great granddaughter, Hannah Hrywnak; her brother, Anthony Biconish and a dear cousin, Katherine Lutzic. She was an active member of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church and St. Ann's Guild. She also loved baking and was the head cook at her church's hall for many years and continued her cooking passion at the Hilltop Nursing Facility where she shared her recipes. She was a retired employee of the G.A.F. Corporation, Binghamton. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, 54 Baxter Street, Binghamton with Rev. Ilya Gotlinsky officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rev. Gotlinsky will conduct a prayer service Monday 5:30 p.m. at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton where the family will receive friends Monday 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Anna's memory to either Dormition of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, or to S.A.S. Foundation, P.O. Box 602, Bible School Park, NY 13737-0602. We are grateful to celebrate the many years our mother has been with us. Her spirit will live on in our children and grandchildren's hearts.
